They are most frequently installed in:
- wineries,
- breweries,
- food industry plants,
- chemical industry plants.
Modular design
Our vast experience has allowed us to design a modular walking system with a wide range of standard segments, which can be used to assemble most of the desired layouts. Walking structures made of standard segments are prepared faster and at a lower price.
Segment length (L): 900 to 3000 mm
Usable segment width (D): 600 to 2400 mm
Railing height (H): 1100 mm
Adaptability
Sometimes the planned installation site may already contain some architectural elements or other fixed objects, which must be taken into account while preparing the technical drawing: they can be avoided or incorporated into the new structure. In this case, our engineers need an installation site layout, including all existing objects and with precise object and space measurements.
We then prepare with the customer’s help a conceptual layout design. The solution is presented in the form of a precise 3D model, which gives the customer a better idea of what the structure would look like and makes it easier to spot potential problems and determine the necessary changes.
Easy maintenance
Škrlj platforms are mostly used in food and beverage production plants. They are manufactured so that they are easy to clean, which in turn makes it easier to maintain the required hygiene standards.
The first condition is the use of a suitable material. Our walking structures are made of AISI 304 (EN 1.4301) stainless steel. Once the welding process is completed, the product is pickled and passivated, as well as sandblasted with steel beads (CrNi) on request. If it is properly maintained, stainless steel is highly corrosion resistant, even if it is used in spaces with high humidity.
The second important factor is a well-thought-out platform design. All platform components (walking gratings, support elements, railings) are carefully planned so that each part of the structure can be reached easily, which facilitates the cleaning process and prevents dirt accumulation.
The perforated walking gratings have small holes 7 mm in diameter, half of which are punched upwards. This surface ensures good protection against slipping and enables continuous water drainage.
Compliance with standards
User safety is our main priority. Our walking systems are designed and manufactured in accordance with the international standard EN ISO 14122, which defines the general requirements for access to machinery, and in accordance with the European standards EN 1090, which precisely define the requirements for steel structure installation. While the mentioned standards are extremely important during planning, we always try to also keep in mind the design of the steel structure, as we want to provide our customers with a safe, functional and at the same time aesthetically pleasing product.
Škrlj walking structures are manufactured in accordance with all standards, required in order to prepare the documentation necessary to obtain a use permit.
